Post 6: Blogmas 2025: I’m a Writer

My Quiet Journey With Writing

I don’t talk about it much, but writing has always been part of my life. Long before I was running a business or selling art, I was writing stories. Poems. Half finished novels. Fragments of ideas that felt important in the moment and then got tucked away. My hard drive and notebooks are full of them. Most of that work has never been shared, and that’s okay. It still matters to me.

Letting Writing Take Up Space

Writing has never been the loudest part of my creative life. It’s quieter. More private. Something I come back to in between everything else. It doesn’t demand attention the way art or business does, but it’s always there, waiting patiently for me to show up.

Lately, I’ve been thinking more seriously about what it would mean to let my writing take up space. Not just as a hobby, but as something I give time and intention to. I haven’t started querying agents yet, but I plan to by the end of this month. Even saying that out loud feels big. The idea of sending my work into the world is exciting and terrifying in equal measure.

Sharing My Writing Journey

I’ve started carving out a small corner of the internet just for that part of my creative life. I share bits of my writing journey over on Instagram at @echoandink_. I write epic fantasy in my Twin-Souls series and speculative fiction through Everything You Leave Behind, alongside genre bending projects like my crime story, The Ripper Gene, and personal essays. It feels different from my other work, quieter and more reflective, and that’s intentional.

Balancing Writing, Business, and Health

Balancing writing with running a small business and managing my health is not easy. Some days, I write a few paragraphs. Some days, I write a sentence or two. Some days, I don’t write at all. I’m learning to let that be okay. Progress doesn’t have to be fast or impressive to count. Every word is still a win.

Writing looks different for me now than it did years ago. It’s slower. More intentional. Less about proving anything and more about telling the stories that won’t leave me alone. I’m trying to trust that this pace is still valid, and that consistency can be gentle.

For Every Writer Out There

If you’re a writer, or someone who wants to be one, you don’t need permission to claim that title. You don’t need a book deal or a byline or an audience. Your stories matter, even if they live quietly in a notebook or a file you revisit once a year. Keep writing. Even if it’s just for you. Especially if it’s just for you.

If you’d like to follow along as I work toward querying and figure out what this next chapter looks like, you can find me over at @echoandink_. No pressure, just words in progress.
