Post 2: Meet My Cats: Sebby, Ginny, and Neville (The Real Staff)
Share
If you've been following Upper Room Prints for any length of time, you've probably seen references to "The Staff." That's Sebby, Ginny, and Neville - the three cats who actually run this operation. I just do the crochet and printing.
I wasn't always a cat person. In fact, I never thought I would be. But just before I got Neville and Sebby, something shifted. And now I genuinely cannot imagine my life without these three. They mean the world to me.
So let me introduce you properly.

Sebby: The Gentleman
Sebby is who I call "the old man" or "the gentleman." He and Neville are littermates, so they're the exact same age, but Sebby has always carried himself differently. Quieter. More reserved. More... Snape-like.
Yes, he's named after Severus Snape. This was before J.K. Rowling decided to go off the rails, and honestly, the name fits him perfectly. Because Sebby really does encompass everything Snape would be if Snape were a cat.
He's incredibly quiet. It took about two months before I heard his meow for the first time. And when I finally did? Imagine Alan Rickman in his famous Harry Potter Severus Snape voice. That's the exact sound of Sebby's meow. Deep, measured, slightly dramatic. It's perfect.
But the most Snape-like thing about Sebby is that he is completely obsessed with me. He follows me around daily. He's usually within five to ten feet of me at all times. If I move to another room, he moves. If I sit down, he settles nearby. He's my shadow, my constant companion, and he's extremely laid back about the whole thing. No drama, all demand. Just quiet, devoted presence.

Ginny: The Princess (Who Thinks She's Queen)
Ginny is the princess of the group. She likes to think she's the queen, but we had to correct that one real fast. That said, she IS the top cat. There's a hierarchy here, and Ginny sits firmly at the top of it.
Her nicknames are Chonk, Chonka Chunk, Gin Gin, and little girl. The "Chonk" names are... well, accurate. She's gotten more rotund as she's gotten older, and we're actively working on her "diet" to make sure she has a long and healthy kitty life. It's a work in progress.
When she was younger, she used to play all the time like a little kitten. But as she's aged (and expanded), her playing has slowed down quite a bit. She's more selective now about when and how she expends her energy. Very regal, really.
But don't let the princess attitude fool you. Ginny runs this house, and everyone knows it.

Neville: The Snuggler
Neville technically belongs to my son, but he lives with me full-time. We didn't want to separate him from his siblings, and honestly, I'm so glad we didn't. Neville is the high energy one of the trio, but oh my god, such a snuggler.
Every single time I'm working at my desk, he's right there on the table waiting for me to snuggle him as I type. In fact, that's exactly where he is right now as I write this. He drapes himself across my workspace, purring, patiently awating attention, making it very clear that my work is secondary to his need for affection.
I call him "Little boy" or "Little Man" as well as "Nebby".
Neville tries daily to kick Ginny out of the top spot in the cat hierarchy. Daily. And it's never going to happen. Ginny has made that very clear. But he keeps trying, bless him.
Why They're Called "The Staff"
These three are called "The Staff" for a reason. They're not just pets. They're my coworkers, my companions, my emotional support team. They're in every product photo, every behind-the-scenes story, every market prep session. They're woven into the fabric of Upper Room Prints because they're woven into the fabric of my life.
Sebby keeps me grounded with his quiet presence. Ginny keeps me in line with her no-nonsense attitude. Neville keeps me soft with his constant demands for affection.
I wasn't a cat person before them. I never thought I would be. But now? I can't imagine my life without them. They've changed me in ways I didn't expect. They've made my home feel more like home. They've made the hard days more bearable and the good days even better.
So when you see references to "The Staff" on my social media or my website, now you know. That's Sebby, Ginny, and Neville. The real ones running the show.
